6 Months!

Today is our 6 month anniversary!  To celebrate we went to church, came home and had left over Papa Murphey's Pizza, and I watched tv while Jer did homework all night!  Great huh?! And still after 6 months I get excited that at night we don't have to go home to our different apartments!  Pretty retarded . . . I know!!

Awards Banquet

Jeremy is smart. He is so smart that the past few years of his engineering degree he has earned straight A's. Because of his smartness and hard work we were able to go to an Awards Banquet at the U for the Engineering Department. You could say it was a room full of nerds. . . I mean smarty pants.

This is just ONE of the THREE times that Jeremy's name was listed in the booklet for scholarships. I counted, I think just one other boy's name was announced 3 times like Jeremy's was that night! I know what you are thinking . . . . and yes, you are right . . . he is the smarter one out of the two of us, and don't worry, you didn't hurt my feelings!!

A Mountain of Rolls

Maren's Birthday/Halloween Party

Little Miss Maren's birthday falls on the week of Halloween so every year there is a Halloween/Birthday party for her . . . . we had a GREAT time!

Ward Halloween Partay!

The week before Halloween our fantastic ward put on a fun Halloween party!  We had a great time dancing, eating and chatting with good people!

I am the Secretary in the Primary Presidency and the ward activities committee asked us to dress up as Wicked Witches of the West to pass out candy to all the kids!  I think we did a pretty good job!

Primary Children's

Jer had angioplasty done over his fall break.  He has a stent in his heart and since becoming married and now insured ("you're welcome" says your full time employed wife!) decided back in August to make a visit to his doctor which is at Primary Children's (since he has had this problem since childhood).  After a few hours of tests and procedures the doctor felt it would be best to do another angioplasty to really see what was going on.  So we scheduled it for a couple months later and just waited.  The surgery came and went great and the doctor was really pleased with everything he saw and was able to ballon out his stent a little bit more to hopefully help his blood pressure.  Jer spent the night in the hospital and I was able to take him home the next afternoon!  After just a couple days he was back to his "normal" self! All in all the experience went well (minus the fact that he passed out on me and the nurse after 6 hours of laying down and then getting up to go to the bathroom. . . . talk about a fast way to get 5 nurses and the doctor back in the room!)

The best part of a 25 year old being a patient at Primary's were all the comments I heard. Such as . . . . . "Wow that is a tall patient" as he is being rolled by in the hall in his bed. Or when the nurse was taking me into the recovery room while he was waking up after surgery saying to me "Come here sweetheart, I will take you to your boy."  I replied and said . . . "Oh well he is my husband, not my son!"  . . . we had a good laugh . . then joked about how all men are just little boys!  And lastly even 25 year olds get to leave Primary Children's with a blanket that someone made for them with love!  (I did give it a good couple washes before using it at home!)

The staff there were all just so wonderful and I hope that we never have to spend anymore time at that hospital. . . it was sad hearing crying babies and seeing all the children who were patients there, how lucky we are for our good health!

Carmel Popcorn

We decided to make some carmel popcorn for a treat one Sunday night.  Then after eating it and LOVING it, we decided to make another batch and run and take it to our home and visiting teaching families!  The night was a success with no cracked teeth (that we know of!)

Whats been going on!

The past few weeks have been busy and great!!  We are enjoying the fall weather and everything that comes along with that. . . . . minus the cold!  Here are some things that we have been doing!

Not only does Jer work SO hard at school and work, he takes care of our cars, fixes little problems around our apartment, goes to the grocery store with me (usually on a weekend night . . . I guess that has become our date night now that we are married!), teaches the 11 year olds in Primary each Sunday . . . . . and he likes to COOK!  We are always trying new things and one night he wanted to make homemade pizza, it turned out GREAT!  And I think he is pretty great!

One night we went for a drive up the canyon and saw the view!

Park City

Saturday night we headed up to Park City and met Katie and Chris to enjoy what is left of summer!  We rode the alpine slide and the coaster for what you could say a discounted price!  (thanks Chris)  Then drove to main street and finished up the night with some yummy burgers!

Lucky!

I married a great guy!  Jeremy had to come and pick up my car from work to start the process of fixing it, and don't worry he didn't just bring his good looking self, he brought me flowers too!  He is pretty amazing!

Capitol Reef

Nate and Miranda invited us to go camping with them down in Capitol Reef over Labor Day.  We had so much fun hanging out with them and their 3 kiddos.  We had yummy food, hiked to a fun waterfall, Jer tried fly fishing for the first time, and we only got rained on a couple times!  (We can't seem to go anywhere this summer without it raining on us!)

Minus the car ride home when some guy rear-ended us.  We had made it all 4 hours almost to Mapleton and getting off the Spanish Fork exit he got us . . . . My poor car. . . . it has just been through a lot.  We are working on it getting fixed and everyone was just fine . . I think our sore necks have finally gone away!  We still had a great time though!  Thanks Hjorth's!

 

Sunday Drive

We had never been to the very top of Millcreek so on Sunday we decided to head up there. It was sure pretty!
