Cold Logan

Last weekend I talked Jeremy into taking a trip to Logan to eat at my favorite Mexican resturant and hang out with cool people . . . . aka Shanell and Liz!

As soon as we drove into Cache Valley all of the trees were SO pretty . . . . it was a very cold day and all of the trees were completely frosted. . .

The cold is pretty much the ONLY thing I don't miss about Logan!

Me and Shanell in her cute house . . . dang I wished we lived in Logan . . . we could own a home and pay a mortgage in what we pay in rent in SLC!

I think Jeremy had a good time!

Christmas Bench

Christmas Project 2009
Entry-way Bench

Ever since Jer and I have moved into our apartment we always thought that we needed something, either a table or a bench, right when you walk in because there is a little extra space. So what was Jeremy's idea for my Christmas present this year?!?! A little bench of course, and no he didn't buy it, he made it! We went down to the wood shop in Mapleton and found some old wood in one of the many Hjorth Brothers sheds, then with the help from my dad, two days later we had a bench built! (And by we, I mean Jeremy and my dad) We just had to go down the next weekend to finish painting it and to bring it back home! I sure do love it, and think it is just so gosh darn cute! Thanks Jer! (and dad!)
The wood looked so pretty after they ran it through a few machines to make it look MUCH nicer than what we found it!

Zoey saying hi!

The happy boys!

And the finished product! Doesn't it look just wonderful! Now all Jeremy wants to do it build things . . . ! I need to keep reminding him that he needs to go to school and that he can work on another project next school break!!

I love Candy!

And what else did Jeremy get me for Christmas?! A whole bucketload of candy! He likes sour patch kids and sour things as much as I do! (So I am pretty sure he bought all of this for him too!) Don't you love the jars . . . . . ? As I was opening the present on Christmas morning, I looked and saw they were cute containers and was so excited to put things in them like sugar, flour and such . . . then Jeremy says "You should open the box and see what is inside!" And low and behold he had already filled them for me! I guess you could say that they are full of sugar . .

and yes I will blame Jeremy for our dentist bills to come!

Hummingbirds

Jeremy and I were watching PBS last night. (Yes I know . . . we HAVE turned into a boring married couple!) There was a cool special on hummingbirds! It was really amazing and the whole time I was watching it I was thinking of Grandma Hjorth and how she loved them so much! Can't wait for this spring/summer when we can put our feeder out and see some again this year!

I think grandma would have liked that special too!

Kelsey's Wedding

My cousin Kelsey got married a couple weeks ago. We had fun at her reception and seeing family and driving in the snow!
Blair and Cynthia just like newlyweds!
It was fun to see everyone, and especially Melissa and her cute kids! (And no . . I didn't even get a picture of the bride! Sorry Kelsey . . . ! You looked just great . . and if you look kinda hard you may be able to see her in the corner of this picture!!)

Merry Christmas!

Christmas 2009 was wonderful for us! It was our 1st Christmas being married, even though it is technically our 3rd Christmas together! We had a wonderful time seeing all of our family and spending a few days away from work which was extra nice!
Jer and I in front of my mom's tree, I look tired . . . Christmas day makes you tired ok!
Our first Christmas tree in our apartment together! We stole my mom and dads old 7 foot tree
which looked pretty big in our apartment . . . but I really LOVED it! We made our own tree decorations this year, and even strung popcorn (which by the way takes FOREVER!)

We had a GREAT time this year!

Temple Square

I know all of these pictures are coming a bit late, but better late than never! We went to temple square with Jer's family, had fun eating at the Lion House Pantry and walking around and seeing the purdy lights.

Mandy looking cute
Katie Cheesing it!
Levi stopped long enough for us to take a quick picture!
Charlotte looking mighty fine!

Don't forget to pay the rent!

So back in October Jeremy had the privilege of taking a wonderful 8 hour long test at the Salt Palace with all the other senior engineer students in Utah. He survived . . . . but he said he really hoped he passed so he would never have to go through that again! Well 2 months later we found out that he WILL NOT have to take it again! I knew he passed . . . it was just nice to have the paper there confirming it!!
It was really funny how he told me he passed. . . . I got home from work after him one night and as I was walking up the stairs to our apartment I saw something posted on the door. . . . . my first thought was "oh crap . . is that an eviction notice . . . did I forget to pay the rent?!?!?!" Luckily I just had to look a little closer at the paper to see this . . . .

Good Job Jer! Man you are so smart!
And yes . . . they don't tell you your score if you pass . . . you only get your score if you fail . . . . luckily we didn't get a score!

Family Pictures!

Every time all of us get together our family has changed . . . . so of course that means we have to take new family pictures!
Grandma and Grandpa with the sweet girls . . . the boys were not being so cooperative . . . (typical)!!!
Micah looking "special" and my hair covering part of Jer's face. . . . . what a quality family picutre!
How many Hjorth grandkids can you fit in a shed?!
Nate & Miranda and their cute kiddos!
Adam and Nichole and the two Las Vegas kids!
Sweet Tessa Rose! She is really the only important one in the picture!

Look how roomy it is in the shed for us! We love it!
